I. EXAMPLES:
He is as poor as a church mouse.
مثل یه موش کلیسا فقیره (خیلی فقیره)
He is as fit as a fiddle though he is already seventy.
خیلی وضع سلامتیش خوبه، اگرچه هفتاد سالشه
Shelly’s father is always as busy as a bee.
پدر شلی همیشه مثل یه زنبور پرکاره
The twin sisters are as different as night and day.
خواهذهای دوقلو مثل شب و روز با هم فرق می کنند
The lecture is as dull as ditch-water.
سخنرانی به اندازه آب ساکن کسالت بار بود
II. DIALOGUES:
A: Have you seen him run in a race?
تا حالا دویدنش تو مسابقه رو دیدی؟
B: Yes. He’s as fast as the wind when he runs.
وقتی می دوه بسرعت باد می دوه
A: But he’s not too good when it comes to studying.
ولی وقتی نوبت به درس خوندن می رسه، زیاد خوب عمل نمی کنه
B: One of my friends said he’s as dumb as a post.
یکی از دوستام گفت به ندازه یه تیر (چراغ برق) احمقه
A: That’s not a nice thing to say.
چیز خوبی نگفته
